We are Jerry Slade & Associates, Inc., dba TaxMasters:  We are a California company that incorporated the founder's sole tax practice that he operated beginning in 1975.

We are a company of Enrolled Agents who are tested, licensed and background checked by the Internal Revenue Service.  Only Attorneys, CPAs and Enrolled Agents may represent taxpayers before the IRS in matters of taxation at all levels, including audit, collection matters and appeals.  If you have a problem with the IRS, no matter how big or small, you need an Enrolled Agent, CPA or Attorney to represent you. 

Since Enrolled Agents focus on preparing income tax returns and Taxpayer Representation, we believe we are the first and best resource to resolve your problems.  If we think you need a CPA to "do your books" or an Attorney to keep you out of jail, we will be the first to recommend one to you.  In almost 40 years of tax practice, we have never even come close to having one of our clients be accused of criminal tax evasion.  We find that very few have had to go to US Tax Court to defend their positions on a tax return and, in every case, the Tax Court settled with our clients out of court in agreement with their position despite the fact that very few taxpayers win in Tax Court.

Each of our Representatives has over 15 years of experience with 40 years being the most.  Experience in dealing with the IRS, on a daily basis, is critically important to you.  Tax Preparers, who are not professionally licensed, may not represent you and therefore have no experience to back their tax preparation claims.  Tax laws change almost daily and one who keeps up with these changes and who regularly fights for your rights with the IRS are the ones you need to choose to represent you.  Don't take a chance on inexperience.

We are a small company with a big heart!  We have offices in San Jose and Seattle and have no sales persons.  When you talk to one of us, you're talking to the ones who will be involved in your case.  We don't pass you off to someone across the State or Country.  Our integrity is important, not only because it's the right thing to be, but we don't want to have to face someone who thinks we gave less than our best for them.

We represent taxpayers with all types of issues: Audits, Payment Agreements, Offers In Compromise, Liens, Wage and Bank levies, asset seizures, Innocent Spouse and Taxpayer Advocate issues.

Our clients stay with us for a long time:  Our first two clients, who came in 1975 are still with us.  Many of our clients have been with us since the 70s and 80s.
